What to do next...
Well the work experience at Graham and Brown was loads of fun, I really enjoyed it but what to do now! I've entered the New Design Britain Awards 2011 so I'm going to start working towards that and hopefully get something from it. I have also began to look into getting into FE teaching so I am hopefully getting some work experience at the sixth form college I attended and hopefully get onto a part time PGCE course by the end of the month. There is also a job I am going for that looks really interesting so fingers crossed everybody will say yes to me!

Exhibitions at the Baltic...
Some images from the current exhibitions on show at the Baltic.
The pictures don't really do them justice as to how gorgeous they look in the galleries. The scale of some, like this first image below, are huge and create a really good atmosphere.

Printed Lengths...
Hand screen printed lengths from my degree show.

A ride out to the seaside...

At the weekend we took a trip out to Amble and then along to Tynemouth. I took a few photos that I thought I could do some drawings from and make some new designs to keep me busy now I've finished college.

Bespoke hand painted wallpaper length...
I wanted my wallpaper designs to all be commercial and aimed at the male market. I wanted to create designs that were abstract but would still sell in high end stores. once I had created my final collection, however, I felt that a bespoke hand painted piece would look really gorgeous if it fit in with the collection in a similar way.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out and I think because of the linear qualities and the coloring it still works with my commercial collection.

The final Major Project

scaffolding sketches

I tried to keep my drawings sheets busy either through collaging different bits of paper and drawing over them or by overlapping my drawings to create something more abstract. I felt this helps with the design process.
